DRIVING BETWEEN MISSION AND HOPE GETS SAFER

MISSION – The Province is investing over $250,000 in safety enhancements along Highway 7 that will make driving safer and easier for motorists while improving the safety of pedestrians and cyclists. Safety enhancements in Mission include:

• The installation of post-mounted double sided diamond grade delineators along the eastbound and westbound shoulders of Highway 7, from Mission to Hope.

Why this matters:

• This corridor is prone to heavy rain, fog and snow, which makes driving the corridor challenging through the fall and winter months.
• New technologies in reflective devices make it possible to greatly improve reflective directional guidance that increases driver safety.

Work has already begun and will be completed by October 31, 2011.

Quote:

“Many people have told me it’s hard to see road dividers at night, particularly when it rains. I am very pleased these new delineators will allow drivers to see roadway dividers more easily in all weather conditions.”
