On September 24, Randy attended the Zajac Ranch's annual open house and announced the BC Government is providing $330,000 towards an new swimming pool.

As part of Mission's Celebration of Community event, Randy was on-hand to help cut the ribbon on the new 2010 Live Sites portable stage.
The BC Government provided over $65,000 towards the stage as part of the Olympic Paralympic Live Sites program.

Randy, along with Linda Reid, the Minister of State for Child Care, met with Dr. Kwadwo Asante on May 6, 2006 to announce $150,000 in funding from the provincial goverment to the Asante Centre for Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.
FASD is the most common form of preventable brain damage to infants in the Western world. It is estimated that for every 1,000 births in B.C., between one and nine infants will be affected in some way by FASD.

Randy had the pleasure to present Gord Kehler, Vice President of the Ridge Meadows Youth & Justice Advocacy Association, with a cheque for $25,000 towards their youth restorative justice program.

a BC Community Achievement Award. Next to the cake-cutting Elspeth is Shelley Clarkson from the Mission Library.

On March 3, 2006 Randy, along with Mission City mayor James Atebe, Transportation Minister Kevin Falcon and Maple Ridge mayor Gordy Robson officail opened the new four-lane stretch of Highway 7 between Misison and Maple Ridge.
